Gather with us Sunday's at 10 a.m.
in the heart of Houston.

We don’t have it all figured out—and we don’t expect you to either. Whether you’re unsure what you believe, uncertain where you’re at with church or God, or have been around church your whole life, you are welcome as you are. Really. Many of us show up with questions, wounds, and doubts—intrigued by the person of Jesus—drawn together not by certainty or shared ideas, but by a God who seems to want to be with us. All of us. Each Sunday, we attend to the ways God invites us to notice this divine presence and how it might transform our lives. Our gatherings move through rhythms of Gathering, Listening, Responding, Feasting, and being sent, lasting about an hour and fifteen minutes. You can expect singing, Scripture, a sermon, guided prayer, and sharing in the Lord’s table. Participation is always invitational. You’re free to join in, to stand, sing, or pray, or to simply sit and observe. Your presence is what matters most. After the service, people often linger. Kids play, conversations unfold, and connections are made. You’re welcome to stay, say hello, or stop by the connect table. However you arrive—curious, hopeful, weary, or unsure—we’re glad you’re here

Frequently asked questions

  • We gather at 8915 Timberside Dr., Houston, TX 77025 every Sunday at 10am. Redemption shares a building with St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church—we are in the north half of the building near Linkwood Drive. Enter through the glass doors with our name and logo on them.

  • Come exactly as you are. You’ll find most people in casual clothes including jeans, t-shirts, and caps, while some decide to dress a bit nicer— there’s no expectation either way. Wear what feels comfortable to you.

  • You can enter our parking lot on the east-side of the building from Linkwood Dr. You’re also welcome to the street parking on Timberside and Linkwood Dr. Look for the Redemption Church signs on Timberside and Linkwood.

  • We love kids and they’re welcome in our gathering. We also offer Redemption Kids a safe, stimulating, and structured space for infants through 5th grade to be invited into the story that they are loved by God in Jesus Christ by trained and background-checked volunteers. Parents can check their kids in at the Redemption Kids kiosk where they will receive a security tag. We gladly accommodate allergies or special needs when informed. Redemption Kids Infant through preschool programs last the entirety of service, while elementary aged students join us in our gathered worship following the sermon.

  • Our youth are an important part of Redemption’s life. Redemption Students (middle & high school) gather for community, conversation, and exploration of faith in Jesus at 9 a.m. each Sunday before joining our gathered worship at 10a.m. Please ask about other youth gatherings and opportunities when you visit.

  • Our Sunday gathering usually lasts about an hour and fifteen minutes, and includes singing, Scripture, a sermon, guided prayer, and sharing in communion. Many people arrive early to catch up over pastries and coffee, and linger afterward for conversation and connection.

  • Connection happens in different ways:

    • Hang out after service and say hello and make some new friends.

    • Visit the connect table to hear about other ways to get connected.

    • Head to our calendar to see which small groups, classes, or events you might be interested in joining.

  • At Redemption we believe God is reconciling all things in Jesus Christ (Col. 1:20; Eph. 1:10; 2 Cor. 5:18-20; Rev 21:5) which means God’s love and grace extend to all people. Thus God makes us a “radically inclusive” community where no one is excluded from the presence and work of God’s life giving Spirit based on their age, race, background, gender identity, sexual orientation, or wherever they happen to be in their story. Because God does not limit belonging or participation at any level based on these—neither do we. We do this while also holding space for questions, doubts, and a diversity of theological opinions—not insisting on agreement—but trusting that belonging to God comes before agreement and certainty on every theological issue.

  • A clarifying note on Redemption’s stance on gender, sexuality, and same sex marriage.
Redemption Church is a diverse faith community among which exist a spectrum of beliefs and questions related to human sexuality and gender identity—convinced our unity is not found in agreement around these questions but in the risen Jesus. We are also the Church home of LGBTQ people and believe those in the queer community have a right to know what they can expect from us in terms of belonging, involvement, leadership, and marriage. Our lead pastor, Brandon Alred, addressed these questions in a sermon you can hear on our podcast: LGBTQ+ Inclusion and the Church. We encourage anyone open to understanding our approach to these questions to take the time to listen to this sermon. However, the bottom line is that no one at Redemption Church will be excluded from full participation in belonging, the sacraments, and leadership on the basis of their sexuality, gender identity, or theology surrounding this issue and we have pastors available to perform weddings for same-sex couples.
